On this Humana commercial on TV, a little girl is all excited showing her mother that her tooth fell out. She's happy that the tooth fairy will visit her tonight. The next morning she's dancing around with a paper bill in her hand.

When I was a kid the going price the tooth fairy paid was twenty five cents. Not having any kids myself, I'm wondering what the tooth fairy is shelling out these days for a tooth?

Back in the early 1960s I got a quarter. Inflation calculator says there has been roughly 700% inflation since then and the quarter would be $1.97 in todays inflated currency. So $20 seems way out of line. But kids are more special now.

Hell, you guys are lucky you got anything at all..

When I was a kid, my father would knock them out of my mouth free of charge.. No tooth fairy involved..

i have an 8 and 10 year old so we lose teeth around here with some regularity. The Tooth Fairy here leaves Tooth ($2) dollar bills. ha ha get it ?
They never had seen one before and they never see them in general circulation so they think its pretty cool getting one. easily available at the bank but they think its pretty cool.

My 8 year old is a saver and has a kiddie purse with like 40$ in it from savings cash and change here and there. my 10 year old blows it as fast as he can get it.

Back in the 80's my daughter had a tooth fall out so she put it under her pillow without telling anyone. Next morning at breakfast she was so upset that the tooth fairy had not left her any money. Thinking fast, I told her that the tooth fairy only worked Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. She nodded sagely and, lo and behold, the next morning her tooth was gone from under the pillow and two shiny quarters were there!

You have to think quick sometimes to be a good dad. When I hear an ice cream truck, I tell them that is the music they play when they are out of ice cream.

When did the Tooth Fairy start carrying $20 dollar bills?

I hadn't thought about that in a long time. Wow, kids are spoiled.

When is the Tooth Fairy going to just make a deposit to the kids debit account? :D
