I have never done business with this chain simply because they serve alcohol. After this I've been forced to change my mind.

I'm told when the sailor tragically died they added another setting with the Navy flag. How ironic that a national chain will honor fallen soldiers when those that complain of "evil corporations" are silent on the subject.
 
My vision just got worse also.

I wonder if he will put on another setting for the 5th victim, even though it wasn't a Marine?
(The Marines are part of the Navy, anyway.)

My family and I eat at that particular Texas Roadhouse every few months. It's a nice place made even nicer with the memorial booth. Doug Flack and the Texas Roadhouse are a class act!

I have eaten at the Texas Roadhouse restaurants several times.
Good food, good service, good prices.

The family and I have eaten at TRH several times and it is an OK fun place.
OH Selena please don't hate me I drank a beer there. Well I can't lie I drank TWO. Son had to drive this old Drunk home :wink:
Glad the manager took this upon himself to do this. More than the POS Pres. has done.

Flack, who served in the Marines from 1994 to 1995, said he stayed up Thursday night to prepare the table, which he set up first thing Friday.

I haven't eaten at one because they aren't local to me, but should I see one I will stop, have some dead bovine complete with salad and iced tea ( I am driving). Chola said it right. They are a class act IMO. 8)

Thanks for the post Selena. What a true waste.

For any of y'all that do try Texas Roadhouse you have to try their Chili. It is some of the best you can get at a restaurant.

mohavesam: It is perfectly legal here in Texas to carry where alcohol is served as long as they are not displaying the 51% or 30/06 sign. I.E. the restaurant sells more alcohol then food or outright does not allow concealed carry. The last time I went, which has been a couple of years they weren't displaying either sign.

The BOOTLEGGERS in Oklahoma use to donate right regular to that Lady's Group when Oklahoma was still a DRY state.
BTW I went to High School with the local Bootleggers son and KNEW where you could buy whatever your heart desired IF you were tall enough to ring the doorbell.
 
The wife wanted to go there Saturday night, so of course, we did. it was good too! 1 of the few places that actually carry Michelob Amberbock, which goes great with grilled beef! :D

And, I think the members here need to apologize to Selena that disagree with HER CHOICE of not doing business with anyone who serves alcohol. Kinda like many of us who choose to not do business with anybody against firearms.
Some people CHOOSE to not drink, and that is fine.

This board is better than that.

It would appear they are not. I don't particularly want to be around people drinking alcohol. Invariably there will be one individual that will claim he can "handle" that engages in drunken obnoxious behavior. I have enough problems without adding that to the list. I nowhere stated the place shouldn't serve alcohol, simply that my preference is not to patronize the chain because of they do. That preference has been modified because of the actions of this one franchise. The statement in the OP was to show my priorities. If either preference hurts your self esteem that denotes your insecurities and problems not mine. Whether you drink or not is none of my business and none of my concern, please allow me the same courtesy.
 
I can't even think of a restaurant in my area don't serve alcohol except fast food joints like McDonalds or Taco Bell that would get old real fast.

Not going to a restaurant because they allow alcohol to be served, is no different than not going to a restaurant because they allow guns. :?
 
Selena: I hope you didn't find any fault in my post above, the statement was made that maybe it was due to not being able to carry and I was merely pointing out the laws here for that purpose. I believe everybody has a right to avoid things that are offensive to them, i.e I don't go to places where the music/background noise is so loud that I can't carry on a conversation with my sweetie. Texas Roadhouse is right on the edge due to this, usually very loud so we try to go when we see business is slow.

I try to stay away from chain restaurants but did have to spend an afternoon at a Texas Road house trying to figure out their gas fireplace... seems the Architect that designed them did not have a clue and put a 2x12 header over the firebox with about 2" of masonry between it and the fire. they had to rebuild all of them at least the ones that had not burned down.... did not get that repair job.... seems they hired a company to travel around the country and do all of them.

I applaud the manager for his honor ... but then once it becomes public and starts to look like publicity I think it's time to take it down.
 
No problem at all with those who choose not to patronize a restaurant that serves alcohol, nor will I make fun of them or make snide remarks about them! Just as some of us choose not to do business with certain gun dealers, it's matter of personal choice. Oterwise, for those not opposed, Texas Roadhouse has some decent food. We go every couple of months.
