since no one replied to my last post i will post this instead, these are the two i have narrowed it down to, as far as the mini goes i would like to know how it stacks up to say a dpms, olympic,or a remington ar15, all of the ar's i haved mentioned have bull barrels on them except the remington,and cost around 800 except the remington

I have a DPMS and the older Mini-14. The DPMS is quite accurate but a bit on the heavy side (9-1/.2lbs). The older Mini-14 is a fun gun to shoot, but not near the DPMS accuracy (Duh!).

Looks like you make your choice and pay your money.
I like the esthetics of the Mini-Target over the DPMS, but that's all personal choice..

I do not own a Target Mini, but I would say that they are a little higher in quality than the base model AR-15 fixed stock model (Olymic Arms Del-Ton, CMMG level). It is probibly slightly lower but close to DPMS, Remington, Bushmaster (Next line up).
RRA tend to eek out a bit more accuracy for the money.
If you want trully accurate (without customizing), I would go for a RRA model with the 2 Stage Match Trigger. The RRA National Match is what the Air Force Rifle Team uses (I think that all the military rifle teams use it, but don't quote me on anything other than the Air Force).
The RRA National Match, Varmint Rifle A4, and Predator Pursuit Rifle all have a 1 in 8 twist, which means you will need to use some fairly heavy bullets, and might want to reload to get a better selection.
The RRA Coyote Rifle has a 1 in 9 twist, so you will be well off with the bullets in the mid 60 grain range.
I understand a really nice custom combo is a RRA lower, with one of a few different custom triggers, a White Oak Upper, and a MagPul PRS buttstock.

Note that if you want an accurate rifle then ARs are certainly the way to go. If you go with a stainless or chome molly barrel (non chrome lined) you can even get more accuracy. A good target or match grade AR-15 barrel should easily give under 1-inch groups at 100 yards and many will do better then 0.5-inches at 100 yards.

I have both and they serve different purposes. I have a 16.5” AR that shoots 1.5” groups with multiple kinds of ammo. My mini might shoot that on a good day with match loads. I have the newer 580 series Mini and have had several older ones and the newer are the best so far. Will it stand up next to my AR in accuracy at the range? No way. With that said I have not seen the target mini in action yet. But…the track record would indicate the best bet would still be with a good AR for accuracy. If I was going coyote hunting and tromping in the swamps, I would have my mini. At the range my M&P 15 PC is on top of my pile.
The AR platform has many parts and pieces for customizing. The ability to have 2 or 3 uppers and 1 lower is pretty cool. (looking at a 6.8 upper)
Buy both and you won’t have sleepless nights thinking about it! :-)

However, the reason I love my Mini's is a don't clean them very often, and I clean my AR's at least every other time I shoot them (usually every time).
