Having an issue with rear sight
It gets stuck in the down position and does not float against the spring as it should
Only seems to happen in the bag where it rests up side down
I realize that turning it will solve the problem but space considerations etc make that an issue

Would a drop of oil be advised and effective ?
Thanks for any advise

Don't just put a drop of oil in the spring area. The front hinge pin area is probably also tight and needs some oil also.

Might want to check out Harbor Freight and look into one of their Apache cases. They're built very well. Much better price compared to Pelican, but with the plastic still being quite strong. I carry my Super Wrangler w/scope in the 5800 model case and it's got 4 latches w/2 lock pads for air flight regulation locks and pressure relief valve knob, to secure my gun, a few tools for gun, some 22LR and 22WMR ammo, magnum cylinder quite safe/secure.

Thanks for the help
Got to messing with the vertical adjustment screw and it seems to be related to that
Think I will stop messing around and take it to the local gun smith
Thanks for the help

Ruger WILL correct the problem, but seems to me that to have a rear sight twisted/frozen is someone wasn't careful in handling the gun and for this to happen is they dropped it to start with and thought, "oh well", don't see any scuffs or scratches and let the gun go through to send on its way and have the customer take care of problem, to just return to Ruger to get fixed from where the problem started.

The super wrangler in question was purchased new from a Ruger vendor and has never been out of my control nor has it ever been abused/dropped etc
It has been back to the original vendor twice for issues with the rear sight
It will be interesting to hear what Ruger has to say and it will be published word for word on this forum when recieved
FYI

Super wrangler back from Ruger
Both spring and rear sight replaced at no charge for shipping or repair
I assume that indicates no owner/user abuse caused the problem
