I want to put a SBH hammer in my Lipsey .44 Spl. Looking at the Numrich Arms site I see the factory and their "wide spur" hammers. Does anyone have any experience with the wide spur?

Mike in SC said:I did some more research via the link on the SBH hammer swap. Honestly, because of the fit of the SBH hammer to the New Vaquero frame ears I don't think that I will do it. It just seems a sloppy fit. Functional, but sloppy. HOWEVER, I found this write up while surfing.

The answer seems to be a Bisley hammer. Granted, you have to do some work but you won't get the hammer sitting low in the frame. If you are careful it will be a perfect match. Any thoughts?

I say go for it! I recently installed a SBH hammer in my Lipsey's 45. It's a cheap, easy project and gives you an opportunity to personalize a bit. Here's my thread with input from a more experienced member...

Can you use a dressed down Bisley hammer with the OEM New Vaquero trigger or must the trigger be Bisley also?
Thanks,
