Hello fellow members,
I have a question concerning the grip frame of my Super Blackhawk with the square trigger guard.
I purchased a Pachmayr presentation grip for this pistol
but it will not "wrap" around the grip frame and seems too
narrow to completely close on the frame.
The retaining screw also seems to be rubbing on the hammer spring when installed.
Are there differences of sizes and or thicknesses of this grip?
Thanks,
Cal.

I wish I could offer some help, but I have very limited & OLD info on the use of Pachmyer grips on a Super. Most of us refer to them as "rubber baby buggy bumpers" & don't use them on our SA guns. The design of the "plow handle" grip is to allow it to "roll" in the hand in recoil. The Pachmyer grips prevent the roll, and can cause more felt recoil to many of us.
As for them not fitting,,, well, way back in my youth & dark ages, when I tried a few sets of them, they fit just fine. My accuracy suffered & I removed them.

I don't use them but have heard many complaints about getting them fully installed on the grip frame. Some coat with baby powder to help them slip into position easier. Once properly installed, the screw and mainspring interference will be resolved. You may have to contact Pachmayr for assistance.

I know the only Pachs I had where not fitted to the frame out of the box. NOTE this was on a P-series auto though. After I felt those and had the trouble of fit etc. I just stay away from Pach. Hogue or factory for me. Uncle Mikes too if you can find them for the gun you have.

I would check to make sure your grip locator pins are fitting in the proper holes in the grip, could be they are hanging up and not allowing the grip to move all the way forward
