I believe I read somewhere that you can put a Blackhawk grip frame with small trigger opening on a gun with a wide trigger, as long as you widen the slot in the frame.

My question is the opposite. Can you put a grip frame with a wide trigger slot on a gun with a narrow trigger? Or do you need to replace the trigger too?

Yes,, it will mount up. But since I've never done it,, I'm not sure if you will get any "play" in the trigger or not.

We want pics when you are done!
I always do pics. I used to be a semi-professional photog.

Here's a recent Bisley conversion of a Mew Model Single Six Longneck.

Thanks to RatCat454 for the grip frame.

YES, as posted above, what you want to do works fine. Have you considered using a wide trigger?

Also just FYI: You can use a wide trigger in a Blackhawk grip frame with narrow trigger opening (which is an old model grip frame) without widening the slot.

-The old model wide trigger is not wide all the way up into the frame.
-just trim the wide part of the trigger a little lower from the narrow top to where the narrow part extends down thru the trigger slot.
-round the edges on the back edges of the trigger where it was thinned.
-before installing the grip frame, install the trigger spring and plunger in the hole in the rear of the trigger guard as usual.
-install the trigger sideways thru the top of the trigger guard slot,
-then turn the trigger 90 degrees to its proper position, install the grip frame, and install the trigger screw.

Used an Old Army trigger to replace a Single Six skinny trigger in a New Model (wide slot) Birdshead gripframe.
Did that because I dislike those skinny (and offset to the left of center) factory OM triggers. (I blame Colt for such nonsense.)
