Just found this at the local gun shop. It was all alone with Taurus's all around, just had to bring it home.

How do I tell if it is converted or not? Serial is 912....

How do I post pictures? :?:

First,, to post pics,, go to the "Gallery" section,, and follow the directions given in the "sticky" at the top and you will be able to post pics.
As for figuring out if it's been converted,, just look at the hammer face for either a smooth face,, or a notch that mates with the transfer bar inside the action when the gun is cocked. If it has a transfer bar,, it's been converted.

the old model Super Bearcats ( and Bearcats) had a narrow hammer, and NO transfer bar, the updated ones have a wide spur on the hammer, and a 'transfer' bar.................'go to the top of the page, and the FAQ and see how to up/down load pictures, gotta have a 'host' site, such as 'photobucket' and quite easy to do....take pictures with a digital camera ,set it on 'macro mode', use a tri pod, go easy on the background and bright lights and you'll do just fine........................

OK, let's see if this works.

One can 'spot' the hammer is regular ,NOT "wide", ala "safety conversion update"..............

yes, we have "seen" some that folks have removed (narrowed) the hammer at the spur, sooooooo...........never say never..................

Here's the parts set used as the "Conversion Kit" and/or New Bearcat lockwork.

The hammer spur is turned down a bit, ala Super Blackhawk. I bet if one looked close at a "narrowed" one the shape would be a "dead giveaway"......

JMHO,

Definitely unconverted. Thanks for the help. This is my first Bearcat, shoots like a dream. Can you tell I'm excited? :)
