What the heck is a studded barrel? I'm looking in the Numrich site at ejector housings, they give the option for a studded barrel or not.

The revolver I'm looking to add a blue steel housing to is my 4-5/8" New Model Blackhawk .45 Caliber (Colt).

How do I know? Thanks.

I believe that there are essentially 2 methods of attaching the ejector rod housing to the barrel.

1) Drill and tapped hole right in the barrel
2) A stud with internal threads welded to the outside of the barrel.

I don't have a clue as to which guns have studs vs which are D&T however I have heard of ERHs coming off after the weld on the stud gave way.

Oops, I forgot about those few early NM's. If your 45 NM has the warning billboard, you should be fine getting the one that is non-studded. Thanks Flatgate. Like you, when it comes to NM's, my memory is a bit fuzzy at times!
