Barrel swap

I have a 44mag carbine and need a barrel swap. I'm restoring this rifle and this is the final piece I contacted Ruger 2x . They keep saying they don't service and refer me to Jack First and Numrich. I have a newer Ruger factory. Need a gunsmith that does more than AR 15s

Sadly,, a lot of the older stuff,, Ruger doesn't have the skilled people anymore as well as the parts to "fix" things. But it's not just Ruger,, it's all manufacturers out there. Models that haven't been made in many years, and the people who worked on them,, are both gone from the knowledge base at the plants.

I'm no help on a gunsmith,, but I'm sure there are some out there. Good luck!

Tough call. I'd ask Accuracy Systems if they'd be willing to do it, or find a real 'smith who works with M1 carbines or Browning BAR sporters, and finally, Mark Novak seems like a guy up for a challenge.

Finally got it done. Nobody would help. Not even Ruger. Sent to Accuracy and paid $275 for labor. All they did was take it apart and put it back together. Nothing. However, I found a great gunsmith.
