Still truckin after 21 years

Nice post. I had an old girl who lived 21-1/2 year. She was mostly black as well, with just a tiny, thin, patch of white on her chest. We have 5 cats around here right now, and the oldest is almost 15. He was born in Miss Penny's lap.
I see you have done what we do, put cat beds in windows! They do love it. As I type this, I have 3 in the office with me. The two baskets are "full" of cat. My gray striped one is in the top basket right now. A different black one is below her. So, basically, your house looks a lot like mine!

I've had several go over twenty. The record is one that died when she was just over twenty three. She was the most loveable cat in the world. Part Siamese she was so crosseyed she learned early not to try and jump up on things. Lived her whole live on ground level.

Your are to be congratulated for your care of your critters! I've had 'em make 20 and a little more, but never 21. It's extraordinary!

The nice thing about cats is they are never QUITE tame. I notice your old guy has a notched ear....see what I mean about never quite tame?

I like that tabby too--"base model" cat! My favorite cat "paint job," although my wife just HAS to have black-and-whites, so that's what we've got....

Yup - Congrats on 21! I love cats but mine never seem to make it much past 10. Last year I had my "dear friend", a gorgeous Maine Coone that followed me around everywhere just like a dog, pass away from a fever at 7. That left a big hole.

But I have this one now that "owns me". She only weighs 7 lbs, but that is good because she spends a good part of her day in my lap. I don't know what it is about me and poofy orange cats, but we seem to somehow have a connection.

I haven't heard either of my guys banging at the door for the last hour or so, wanting to come in and mess up all the papers generated by an interesting tax season. Now I know why: they're off posing for your photos! The male is the spittin' image of Roland's old orange Maine Coon, though at 14 lbs I think he's a bit on the small size for that breed. His "sister" is a black shorthair trimmed nicely in white. Very much like a tuxedo, or perhaps a penguin? She's got a lot more white than the OP, but I had one that was nearly identical to that picture a few years ago.

Don't have any longevity stories, though. Both are only about 4 right now, so they've got a ways to go to match any of your guys.

And those beds in the window must really be nice while watching "Cat TV!"

I dunno what it is about gun guys and cats....I suspect it is that little bit of wild animal left in both of us "domesticated" critters. Always noticed that my favorite gunsmiths seem to have a "shop cat!"

Looking good for being that old. Had a few that were in their late teens but never made 20+.

As to making a place to sleep...That was Slick's sister, before her untimely death by Pit Bull, in her favorite place.
