Still a 10-22 ??

Just read a thread with someone asking about aftermarket triggers for a 10-22, and it got me to thinking about how many aftermarket parts I have put on 10-22's. In fact, I have two guns that have NO Ruger parts! Aftermarket everything from the receiver, internals, barrel and stock.
So, obviously not Ruger, but can I still call them 10-22's????
I do use only Ruger mags though

Anyone else have any non Ruger 10-22's............post a pic.

The stock on the top rifle looks like the same one Ruger puts on their Talo exclusive Model 1296, but I imagine they get theirs from the same aftermarket source!

Yes, I'd say one built from 100% aftermarket parts can still be referred to as a 10/22...Just not a Ruger 10/22. All of mine remain probably around 50-85% Ruger made parts.

Well, folks will buy/build an aftermarket frame, running gear, suspension and just about every other part and call a vehicle a Jeep.

Sure, I don't see why not. While I think 10/22 should remain as Ruger branded only, the Colt's 1911 and AR-15 are still called out by their model no matter who the manufacturer is… which also includes a lot of do-it-yourself builds.
