I posted earlier about a FTE

http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=112572

I took the advice of jeffegg and had the barrel checked out and this is what my dad's friend (gunsmith and FFL dealer) noticed. He noticed those little indentations/grooves. I had not shot it since the issue I had so this was definitely caused by that earlier instance or sometime before.

Sorry about the picture quality these were taken on my phone. But, he mentioned that it didn't seem like something to worry about, just to keep shooting it and see what happens. So I put 150 rounds through it Saturday and it was fine. He said if it becomes a problem we can polish it but until then just to shoot it and let it wear till it's smooth. Comments, Suggestions, input, professional opinion? Your help is much appreciated.[/img]

A fine crocus-cloth wrapped around a wooden dowel spun by a drill should polish it out nicely. If it were mine...that's what I'd do. (Crocus will not remove much metal...it will only polish.)

Shoot it! If it doesn't cause malfunction, poor accuracy, etc, then shoot it! I don't think the SR9 will ever be a show piece, so I'm not too concerned with how it looks.

Thanks guys. I emailed Ruger today and should be getting a response back soon. I'll let you know what they say when I hear back.
