I just sold a gun and acquired a new 4" Max 9 in the deal. I went on Ruger's site to look up specs, and it is not listed. Did Ruger drop this model already?

Wow it's gone from the website. Only Max-9 models left are the new nitride versions and an older style one that is California approved.

I .stand corrected , they are gone , the 3 inch was what I saw on the website .I bought a 4 inch with the dot sight late last fall from an online auction . I got super good deal on it . wasn't really after it but I won it .I haven't shot it yet . it will be interesting to see what else they discontinue ...........

I have the 3" with the Ruger Ready Dot on it. It is my EDC gun. I'll pick my new up in a day or two. Curious to see how it shoots.

The Max-9 with the 4" barrel is not a separate model. It's simply the Max-9 "Pro" model that comes from the factory with the extended/threaded barrel installed. The "Pro" denotes it comes with no manual safety and, crucially, that longer barrel. The standard Max-9 has a 3.2" barrel.
So, if you go on Ruger's site and look at the Max-9 Pro, the listed specs will show the overall length, and if you look closely at the pictures or description, you'll see it's the 4" threaded version.

Nope, not a Pro and no threaded barrel.
Ruger hasn't dropped the Max 9 line it's still very much active and listed on their site ruger.com/products/max 9/models.html with multiple variants, including optic ready, manual safety, and CA compliant options. The standard model has a 3.2 barrel, though there's no factory 4" barrel version in the current lineup or recent drops.
What you likely have is a used custom aftermarket barreled one some folks swap in longer barrels for better sight radius velocity, or possibly a rare distributor exclusive prototype that didn't make the main catalog. Ruger did release a refreshed MAX 9 in mid 2025 like model 3514, but it's still the short 3.2 barrel.

I am picking it up today and will post picture of gun and box. It is NIB Ruger that was offered in 4" for about a year. Not a Pro model, no porting and has a safety. Not a custom job. Just a model Ruger offered and then dropped.

No, Ruger hasn't dropped the Max 9 overall it's still very much in production and listed on their site with multiple models like 3519, 3523, etc., including optic ready and ReadyDot versions.
The 4" barrel variant introduced in 2024 as a longer slide upgrade for better velocity sight radius isn't showing up prominently right now on the main models page, which might be why you can't find it. Some older current spec sheets focus on the original 3.2" barrel versions, and the 4" one seems to be in "limited availability" or phased into specific SKUs e.g., certain optic packages or dealer stock.
Real world take from recent reviews 2025–2026 The 4" Max 9 is still out there GunBroker/eBay/AT3 Tactical listings, positive user reports on accuracy recoil, but it's not as aggressively marketed as the compact original. Ruger might be prioritizing the shorter EDC versions or bundling the longer one quietly.

My LGS where I bought mine has another 4" in stock. He said his distributer doesn't have any more. Ruger very quietly dropped a few guns in2025. M77 Scout rifle and 10/22 TD come to mind.

I think there are some #03507 4" barrel models at Lipseys distributor. I bought 1 2 weeks ago, shipped in from Lipseys.

Weather finally warmed up to the mid-teens so I got out and shot it Monday. I put 8 magazines of various ammo through it. 115, 124, and 147 grain. All fed and shot well with no problems. I found it easier to shoot than my 3".
All ammo shot pretty much to same point of aim. That's something my 3" won't do. I really like this version.
