SR 22

Just got back from the range where I ran a couple new shooters through their paces. One was my new Ruger SR22. Had a bulk pack of Winchester and the little Ruger chewed up a coupe hundred rounds in short order with nary a hitch. I gave it a fast cleaning and oiling before we left. I like this gun and my sweetie liked it too. She put probably 7-8 mags through it herself and I may be buying a second one. :roll: Anyway, it's a keeper and fits nicely in the 10-22 take down bag in it's own storage pouch. Glad I got one of these.

The other newbie was a S&W Shield 9. Flawless performance and has easily found a niche in my summer carry stable. Good weather, a day off from work and two new shooters that did not disappoint. Life is good.

That's sounds good, I always like to hear young ones getting into the sport. Hope the weather is good for you folks.
I want to take a varied selection of ammo for the .22 nest time and try it out for accuracy and see if it will indeed cycle everything as others have said. I just put a couple hundred through it yesterday to break it in and didn't really try too hard for groups but I did hit just about everything I aimed at, cans, plates etc. I have a modest supply of .22 ammo including a bit of CCI that has worked in every gun I have tried in in and always with very good results. Yesterday was a last minute decision to go to the range so I just had what was in my range bag. Next time I'll try Federal, Winchester Super X, the CCi and maybe even some dirty old Blazer. The little thing is just good fun.

I used my SR22 this morning to dispose of a varmint I caught in the barn overnight. It was surprisingly quiet with Aguila Super Colibri and fed from the magazine fine. Of course it didn't cycle but I'm actually fine with having a manually operated magazine fed pistol for those times when a single shot is all that's needed.
