My platforms have always remained dedicated. My SR22 was pretty great for its one purpose. Why I sell guns, there is no explanation, but my SR22 rifle was one of my all time favorites.
But 400-bucks seems pretty steep for a used one.
Whoops, I must rectify my last comment, as I just discovered I sold my two SR-22 Rifles for $450 and $475. And that was 5+ years ago.

I'm seeing them go for $600+ on Gunbroker.
I wanted one when they were being produced, but never managed to get one.
I've just about talked myself out of it for now, but if it's still there next time I go in...

They've become too expensive to use as a 'chore gun'.
