Opening her up was even worse. The trigger was so rusted that the safety wouldn't budge, and the trigger would not reset. Luckily, I had a BX sitting around for another project. The receiver needed some serious help, with the finish bubbling up in spots. Wound up stripping and cerakoting the receiver and touching up a few other spots, but she looks a lot better now!!

I'm thinking a red dot for her, but not dead set on it.

Looks nice.

I think you can still find a full-length (matching height) top rail for that handguard on Amazon, if you're interested.

I don't hate that idea... Do you know who makes it?

These are/were a very handle little rifle. Scopes or other optics un-do much of this handiness.
Mine had flip-up sights, and that was my preference. If a feller needs to add optics, he may as well stick with a conventional 10/22.

Last load from my farm went in Thursday. I think I'll see if the soybean check covered the input costs and county property taxes. If so, I'm going to call the shop where I saw that SR-22 last month and see if it's still on the shelf.

I respectfully disagree. This is a perfect platform for a RDS. Depending on the application one could even go with a micro sight. It would be just as handy, if not more, than flip up sights. I would not like the bulk of a scope though, not even a LPVO type.

If I were to run across a used one in good shape it would be tough to walk away from....and I have a Leupold Freedom RDS laying around that would be perfect (IMO) for my needs.
