Shot fair for using the wrong type ammo...

First shot with my recently purchased Armisport-made Springfield 1842 rifle-musket. Didn't have time to put together actual paper cartridges, and only had .69 round ball. Loaded it with patched round ball, using Goex CTG grade powder and CCI Reenactor musket caps. Shot off hand at around 35 yards or so.

Black powder guns are fun! I have a few and am in the process of building a 1851 Navy. I just have one question. You say 35 yards. My drive is 75 feet and it looks longer than what I see. Are you sure you didn't mean 35 feet?
