Here's the latest from buddy Zulu. The barrel is a replica of antique barrels used in India that a customer wanted a English Naval carriage for. Don't see these often. :)

Wow, a beautiful replica! I wonder if the owner learns that it is not to be fired, he will list it on Ebay.

I've been contemplating building a golf ball cannon but the rest of the family won't allow it. When the "duck swamp" is full of water, I have 40 acres of "drop zone" in which to fine tune my POI. There shouldn't be a problem getting 400 yards out of a golf ball with black powder.

Just call it a "Nerfball" launcher.

PS: I assume you know how to build a barrel that won't blow up. :)

I took metal shop High School my best friend and I each made a cannon than made a carriage in wood shop .
The only way we got away with it was not drilling on the fuse hole , But a drill press at the gas station we both worked at
fixed that problem.
Try anything like that today they would lock down the school and we would get locked up

I've always wanted one like Higgens on Magnum P.I. would set off every morning to wake Thomas up by as he raised the British flag. I think my neighbors don't know how lucky they are that I can't afford one.

A buddy has a .75 cal. Napoleon cannon I think was made by CVA. I always wanted one. I had to settle for a carbide cannon.

I've made a few from sawed off 12 ga. barrels. I'm surprised I'm still alive, although none blew up. One did "escape" from it's carriage and embed itself into a bank. It took a while to dig it out.
