SHORTENING MY REDHAWK BARREL

I have a chance to pick up a stainless Redhawk in 45LC for a very good price. Only problem is it has a 7.5 inch barrel and I'd prefer a 4 or 5.5 inch barrel. What are my options? Again, the price is very tempting.

Instead of the expense of a custom job,, why not see if you can find someone with a short barreled one to trade with?

If you should come across another long barrel one generally it is cheaper to cut and chamfer the muzzle than to replace the barrel. The latter requires the purchase of a barrel and paying to
have the old barrel removed and the new one installed and setting of b/c gap and maybe recutting the forcing cone. This requires a frame wrench with the correct inserts and the Ruger
uses some super tough thread sealer that many cannot break albeit Hamilton Bowen does.

I have a 7.5" Redhawk and I am kinda bored lately. The itch to pick up a hacksaw is starting to get to me.

Oh wait, I know my limitations. Dang, and that Winchester barrel I have is about 4" too long also. Doing the front sight right is probably the biggest stumbling block to my destructive tendencies. :D :D :D :D
