Is there such a critter as a SBH grip frame with a round trigger guard in carbon steel?

Only via "blacksmithing" the square backed trigger guard.

The above 10 inch barreled .44 Flattop has been fitted with such a beast.....
The pretty grips are from long gone Lett Mfg. and were designed for OM Super Blackhawks.

Yep, here you go:

4-5/8" and I believe the 5-1/2" New Model Super Blackhawk. I could be mistaken, but I understand this one fits, and it does have a round trigger guard.

The 4-5/8" and 5-1/2" New Model Super Blackhawks do indeed have round trigger guard grip frames, HOWEVER they are XR3-RED grip frames and not the much larger, traditional Super Blackhawk design.

Look close at this image. It shows a XR3-RED walnut grip panel setting on the "square back trigger guard" Super Blackhawk grip frame. Note how the XR3-RED matches up quite well but is significantly "shorter".

Search will be on for a blue steel, or maybe stainless, New Model Super Blackhawk grip frame. It would be nice if there was a supply with the round trigger guard.

Thanks for the visual, Flatgate. We've seen the assorted drawings and overlays here a number of times, and they are/were very helpful. But this visual with the grip panels is most helpful. I'm guessing that longer grip frame would fit my hand a little better than the XRN-3RED which are on all of my New Models; don't have a Super. I'm guessing that larger grip frame would still fit my 1978/79 vintage New Model Blackhawks.

Think how nice it woluld be to have DRAGOON, HUNTER and BISLEY grip frames in brass, carbon steel and stainless...maybe even aluminum.

You probably know about the Hunter in ss, same SBH grip size and round trigger guard. Send it here and get it blued:

George Roghaar comes highly recommended.
