Just purchased an S&W M&P in 357 Sig NIB on Gunbroker for $350

I'm not familiar with the 357 Sig, but the price was the clincher. Plus it can easily be converted to .40 S&W from what I understand.

Anyone else have a 357 Sig pistol? M&P?

Hello Truthy,

I thought you had a woody for a Glock 19, what happened Dude? Actually, I rather like the M&P, and I think the .357 Sig is the hottest semiauto round out there. It would make a nice compromise chambering for the P-944. However to answer your question, no I've never owned a pistol in that caliber..... yet. 8)

I don't have the M&P, but I do have a Glock 32.

Upsides to the .357 SIG from my point of view are 1) flat tragectory makes for good accuracy, 2) is almost as easy as a 9mm to shoot and control but has higher performance, 3) like most guns it is a hoot to shoot!

Downsides include 1) difficulty in finding factory ammo, 2) cost of the ammo when you do find it (I reload so this isn't much of an issue for me), 3) when you shoot the gun people will sometimes come up to you asking what in the world you are shooting because it does make a big bang. The only gun that gets me more questions is my 10mm.

Overall, I've been really happy with the .357 SIG.

My agency has carried this round for five years. I've grown to like it. We are issued Sigs for duty carry and I carry a Glock model 32 off duty. It's a great round. The law enforcement agencies that carry the .357 Sig have reported exceptional results when used in armed encounters. I was part of a test and evaluation team with my agency and the M&P 357 was extremely accurate. I really liked it. We have not changed weapons yet and may go with it. The NC Highway Patrol is switching to them now.

Congrats Truth, I hope it does well for you. I'll be looking forward to pic.s & a range report when you get it. I understand you being in CA that might take a while.

I purchased one from GB also, and am waiting for it to arrive.
Could not pass it up for the price.

Already ordered a .40 cal barrel from Brownells.

I have a Glock sub compact in .357 sig and really like it, except for the ammo prices.

Yep, all you need is a forty barrel to convert it.
