I just traded for a SBH 44 mag and it has rust inside the barrel...Will this hurt my arccuacy or anything else.
Thanks Jon

It depends on the severity of the corrosion. However, I have heard instances of a rusted barrel shooting just fine.

I'd sure start by giving it a good cleaning and inspection. Then I'd run to the range and give it a try.

Very true. I have an M1 Garand with a severely pitted bore from rust. But the lands and grooves are still sharp and the thing shoots about 2 to 2.5 MOA at 100 yards, which is pretty darn accurate for a field-grade Garand.

No one can tell you how well your barrel will shoot. Only way to find out is to shoot it.

A jar of JB Bore Paste, Butch's Bore Shine, or something like that is a lot cheaper than a fire lapping kit, and really all that's needed here.

But yes, you should clean it and try to remove as much rust as possible before shooting it.
