These grips are off of my SBH. My question is will Ruger replace with a new set of grips? The screw is pulling through the grip.
Thanks for your response.contender said:That's a common problem with heavy handed folks who think a grip screw needs to be TIGHT! A properly tightened screw won't do that, but as insurance, some custom stock makers include a spacer for inbetween the panels to prevent this problem.
Many of us around here add spacers to our stocks to help protect them from just such damage.
Next, that panel can be repaired.
Using a feather, with a little wood glue on it, you can work glue into the cracks. Next, place a piece of tape, (I use painters tape,) over the backside, then press the wood AND ferrule back in place. Clamp with a padded vise or squeeze clamps. Allow to set.
As for Ruger replacing it,, all you can do is call & ask.
