I just purchased a bunch of gun parts from a retired gunsmith.
Amongst them were a bunch of Security Six parts kits.
Each kit contained 9 envelopes with parts.
There are several kits.
Most envelopes have been opened. They all have the parts in them , but some are used and some are new.
I do have one complete unopened kit.
I don't have a Security Six and am going to sell these parts.
I can't find these kits anywhere.
Without looking up each individual part ( some envelopes have more than one part ) , how should I price these parts.
Would I be better off just putting them on Ebay and seeing where the chips fall ?
The picture is a list of parts in each kit.
Any help would be appreciated.

Seeing as they are various kits I'd list them as a Lot. Purchaser buys them all and they ship as the complete Lot. Fussing around sorting and inspecting them would be time consuming. Gunsmither rebuild parts kits .. as is .. Someone will jump on them.

All the kits are the same.
I don't have to sort anything out. All the parts are in separate envelopes and numbered , like in the list.
The opened ones , I would call used , even though some parts are still new.
One kit has never been opened.

Why not take the time to look up one complete set of parts,, get a general idea of the value,, then place a fair pricing on a set,, and offer them here.
Cut out sleezbay,, or GB & their fees & such. You'll have a lot fewer headaches that way.
Offer them in individual kits & I'll bet they sell quickly if offered that way here.

The only parts kits I see , are basically a used gun someone took the serial numbered frame off and is selling the other parts.
I can find the individual prices all day long.

I just thought these were something Ruger sold as a kit at the time.
I thought someone here might know about them.
I will figure it out.
Thanks for the replies.

If I remember correctly, these were parts kits that were sold to armorers and gunsmiths. I have a description letter like you have but don't have anything else that would identify the end package. I seriously don't think that Ruger would be of any help with finding info on the "kit" as they stopped servicing the Six series YEARS ago and they do not, as far as I can discern, have any Six series parts any more.

If you had the time and inclination you could go onto the gunpartscorp (Numrich) site and price each item in the kit from their prices.

I have done most of that already so if you PM me with your email address, I can scan my work and send it to you. All I would want ;) is the first shot at them if/when you decide to sell them :)

Contender and RoninPA nailed it.
I could be interested in one or two myself.

Fees here a little less than eBay or others …..

...at least yours are in kits, and envelopes, all the hard part is done, I got drawers, tackle boxes and bins and NOTHING Is marked........and NO time ,,, a sick wife, a flip phone and an broken camera.............:rolleyes::(

Chief, what are you looking for, complete rear sight system or just the rear sight blade. I'm assuming it's for a Security Six not anything else. I should have have one, just have to check.
I need the complete assembly. Yes Security Six , 2 3/4 “ barrel, SS. Revolver got dropped some years ago and the rear sight took the heat for it.
Thanks for the assistance RoninPA!

I looked up all the individual prices.
These kits are worth more than I thought ( if complete ).
I still don't know what these are worth , being as some parts are new , some are used and some are missing.
That is what I like about Ebay. I can just list them and let the bidders decide what they are worth.
