Have been thinking about this for a while and thought I would ask.
Did or does Ruger make a Vaquero Bisley, 45LC 4 5/8" barrel in stainless?
Not a Birds Eye but a Bisley frame.
New model or old model? Part number?
Have been thinking I may want to own one new or used.
Thanks

Buds has a 5.5" barrel Bisley New Vaquero in 45colt. I don't think they made a 4 5/8" one.

Wonder why? Recoil on the bisley frame?
I have found many 5.5" ones

Yes they did!! I sold one to a gentleman from Texas here on the forum a while back.

Here it is!

T.A.
do you recall or have any reference o what the model number of it was?
Was it an old style or new?
Do you recall the member you sold it to?
PM or email me any information you may have, I have asked Ruger but they never got back with me on it.
I may have the ability to cut one down but I would rather buy one or trade for a factory made piece.

Ron,
Welcome to the forum!

It was a Hi-Polish Vaquero not New Vaquero.

IIRC it was a KRBNV-44 model #0539, I don't have the serial# handy but will try and dig it up for you.

Sold to a Texan named "Woody" I believe.
Terry

PM sent on a New Vaquero standard grip frame also.

thanks T.A. that helps a bunch.
I have a 44-40 SS old Vaquero that I bought new,
I like the convertible , it would be nice to have 2 cyls.
For the price I could not change the frame, trigger and hammer and make it worth it.
I think the only frames are rough casting anyway?
I will use the model numbers you gave me and see if I can track one down.

Hi,
I don't understand your last comment. 44-40 and 45 colt can't be shot in the same gun; the barrel diameters are incompatible. Now you could find a 44 mag Ruger cylinder and fit that to your 44-40; Ruger used the same barrels on both their 44-40 and 44 mag/44 spec. old model Vaqueros., .429. (45 colt barrels are .452.)

I understand, I just made a comment that I have a 44-40 old style SS , then I commented that it would be nice the have a 45 conversion like the Davidson and I could have 3 calibers, but really just looking for the short barrel ss 45 Bisley and not another standard frame, sorry for the confusion.

Hi there, I bought a used one about three months ago, 4 5/8" stainless Bisley in .45 Colt. Had just the box with it, no manual. From box label, Catalog no. KRBNV-44, model no. 00539, serial No. 057-69768. Paid $417.00 for it, don't know if that was a good price but I wanted it. Sorry cannot post pictures here. hope this helps.
