Vaquero in Matt stainless

I don't know if its just me but would anyone else like to see the vaquero in matt stainless?

“It’s just you.” 😂

I might like one… but I think a matte finish would have limited sales appeal. The high-gloss stainless is the ticket when I want to play cowboy! 🤠

You might consider having a “regular” Vaquero bead blasted, to get the matte finish that you’re after. That would be the most sure way of getting the exact configuration (caliber/barrel length/grip frame) you want. 💡

Maybe you can find some posts and pics online of bead blasted Vaquero, for inspiration? 👍

Here’s a post with a pics, for inspiration:

It’s way easier to make a shiny stainless into matte finish than to turn matte into polished.

Also easier to "touch up" a blemish on a matte finish...but then I do have a bead blasting cabinet in my shop....

10x Epic LP is wonderful stuff.

Polishing out marks or scratches on a high polish surface is far, far easier than any other finish.
A satin finish can be done but is the most difficult to match without the original process.
A brushed surface is a bit easier and takes a lot of patience and experimenting with materials to use..

I agree, when it comes to duplicating the original "matte" from the factory.

I would just blast the whole 9, rather than try to "patch" it.

I have a SS large frame Bisley Vaquero that got an uneven polish from the factory. I've been thinking of taking a Scotch pad to it to give in a softer 'antique' look. I think that this finish will be easy to maintain as many of my SS shooters have achieved this look with repeated cleaning over the years.

New action series: "Matt Stainless, P.I. "

. . . I'll just let myself out.

(Love the matte stainless birdshead .45 convertible in Uncle Howie's post above. Although Matt Stainless would probably be packing some sort of 1911 variant . . .)

I've seen a few that became "matte finish" after being handled a lot. Kind of cool.

KingSnake, Those middle ones look great ;) . Give me case-colored/hardened blued any day of the week :) or just blued... Each to their own :) .
