I didnt think about red dot on my Super Redhawk. Have one on a gp100 and love. I guess the cool thing about the Super Redhawk is change ability. Looks like it will be easy to go from Irons to Red Dot to $cope. I need more money

You might be able to swap those rings for 1" rings. Those 30mm rings are popular for Red Dots. :D

Since you brought this up and got me thinking.... What type of Red dot would be good on a Super Redhawk 7.5" 44 magnum?

You can find the standard rings pretty easy. I agree with the others. I don't think you'll have a hard time finding someone to trade you 1" rings if you wanted them. If you put those Warne rings on, what base are you using? Also, I think Ruger will give you the ones you need if you send them what you've got. I know they used to do it for people wanting the tall or short rings, but not sure if they still do it, or if they trade them out between optics sizes. I've only got 1 Ruger with an optic, and I used the standard rings.

30 mm rings and an Ultra Dot sight is what I have on three of my boomers. I also have a couple with 1" Leupold's on them. I much prefer the Ultra Dots and have not had a lick of trouble with any of them even with heavy 325 gr. .454 loads.

I just put a Ultra-Dot on my super redhawk, I got the 30mm rings from Ruger. I really love that sight as it is much lighter and easier to get on target than the Burris scope that I had on it. As far as Loc-tite goes use green if you have it or just some finger nail polish will set your screws nice.
There is a picture of my revolver in this forum with the Ultra-dot mounted on it.
