Ruger security six front sight

I have a used ruger security six, The front sight is loose and keeps comming off. It shakes side to side. I have replaced it. Put it back on again . Same sight. This time I lost it. It was the one with an orange insert. Where can I get another. Should have contacted Ruger long ago. Just sent them an email. Help!!Also need the pin to hold it in .

gunparts.com has them and also the pin for holding them in. I got one about a month ago from them in stainless

Got one put on this morning. Local gun smith had one and pin on old one. Had the blue insert. Looks like it will pick up light well for my eyes. Pin was roll pin he cut to length. Shot it this afternoon about twelve times . On the money. Just lucky I guess. Thanks for info.

Someone along the way must have replaced the pin with a regular round solid steel pin. The proper pin for holding that sight "is" a roll pin. it will expand to hold the sight tight "unless" the hole has been enlarged. In that case, a slightly larger roll pin is needed. Something to keep an eye on in the future as many firearm sights, both front and rear are held by roll pins.......................Dick :wink:

I think you are right because the smith put in a roll pin.
