Ruger LCR 327 Federal

I am lucky to have one of these because they are quite hard to find. But I do have a question: lately I have been carrying the LCR 327 loaded with 6 rounds of 32 H&R Magnum Critical Defense FTX rounds by Hornady. Prior to this time I carried a Sig 365/380 stuffed with 11 rounds of 380 Also Critical Defense. So, which would you consider to be the be the more effective carry gun? I just wanted to get an idea what the consensus of this forum is and would love to hear your opinions.

You might be asking why don’t I just carry with 327 mags? Two reasons loud report and strong recoil. Most of what I read kind of places both these rounds as marginal for self defense and stresses shot placement as key. What say you?

Between .380 and factory .32 H&R, very likely a toss up. More rounds is more better unless you have a significant personal dispensation towards revolvers over auto-loaders.

I say if you’re using that weapon to save your life, you won’t notice the recoil at all.

I carry hot defensive loads in my 38 Special but practice with mild reloads. To each their own.

Most effective is the one you shoot the best and feel most comfortable with!
