Heck, I even had a few Astra revolvers back in the day. And a few Taurus too.
To me they were a stepping stone up to Ruger or S&W.
Not a thing wrong with most of them (except 1 Taurus in that goofy 17 caliber) but my wants evolved.
I had an Astra 4" fixed sight .38 and I loved it. I wish I had kept all the so called "off brand" revolvers I had but I went through a phase of gun snobbery and sold or traded a lot of cool old Taurus' , Astra , an old Manurhin 88 that was beat up, a Llama .357, and a Rossi Brazilian cop gun 4" .38 that looked like it was dragged behind a car but that action was slick . I had one of those old Alfa .38s that was a S&W knockoff but the steel in these old guns was soft and I stopped "collecting " a while ago

I did keep this Taurus 82 I bought in about 2010 at a local gun shop, they had a bunch of security company trade ins for $200 so I picked out the best one, took off and threw away the ugly rubber grips and put older Taurus woods on I got off Ebay . I dropped in a Wolff mainspring and left the trigger spring alone. This thing is actually a super sweet shooter, timing is perfect, it's tight and it's as good as a S&W.

The problem is, if you buy another 82 it might be a train wreck. I've had older ones , the ones that look like a S&W 10 heavy barrel and they were garbage. One I had to file on the forcing cone and another one hit the primers off Center. Taurus is a crap shoot, you either get a gem for almost free or a turd.

I had a nice stainless Taurus 65 I should have kept too. Always buy them in person so you can check them out

Even though I have numerous GP100s, the brand new blue Taurus 65 sitting at my dealer for like $340 is a tempting impulse buy, but I definitely don't need another .357.

The problem with revolvers as anything but hunting and possibly HD is firepower and accuracy. Yes Revolvers can be very accurate but next to an Optic equipped Major Power Semi it's absolutely outclassed in any functional way. Precise hits out to 100yds+, suppressive fire, speed to reload, ease of carry etc. I hope Contender has a few dueling trees available.

If Ruger resurrected the Security line of guns, added SA/DA, Decocker, safety options. The 5.7 is a perfect example for a full size competition/hunter version in 9,10,40&45. A standard and competition internal chassis of aluminum and steel longer for 6" hunting and competition versions they could have a World Leading gun with a few tweaks to some CNC files to produce.

One of those scopes wouldn't happen to be a "stainless" Burris 2-7x would it? If so, I might be interested…
I do have a made in Colorado silver finish 4x Redfield I took off my Super Blackhawk Hunter, it's pretty much new but those old handgun scopes have hinky eye relief

OK 6" threaded barreled 5.7 in 460Roland/45acp, 10mm, 357sig. The Security line can handle 40&9. They could even do a rimless 357 magnum or similar length round to be different.
