Ruger 77 Hawk Eye

Just recently got my hands on a all Weather version in .338 Federal... I love the caliber, but the rifle has some issues... still not sure if I like the new stainless finish, the action is gritty, and rough.... I like the guns trigger, but I am gonna have to do some work on the rifle.... Anyone else have any issues with the Haweyes??

I have three hawkeye stainless bolt actions, and they work very well.

Take the bolt out, and give it a good cleaning. After the cleaning, work the bolt back and fourth a few hundred times. The gun should get smoother with use.

I usually take a little emery cloth and clean up the feed rails, mostly because it keeps the brass from getting scratched up, but it also smooths up the action.
