Round Butt Wood Grips for GP100

Over on Ebay a Thai seller has some grips for GP100s. I know some time back a person was inquiring whether any such existed.

There seem to be several sets offered.

You're right--they do look a good deal like those weird Smith "Combat" grips of, what, the '80s? '90s?

I bought a set of those things for $5 at a yard sale. From what I've seen on eBay, I could get AT LEAST 10x my money back if I wanted to put them on there--maybe 20x. (They're pretty nicely colored goncalvo alves.)

I just received a set of these today in Rosewood and w/o finger grooves. I am going to trim them down to make "boot" style grips for my GP100 3" blue. I received mine in ten days. Mine are like this:

Notice from the photos at the bottom that there is a lot of extra "meat" than can be whittled down to taste. I am going to try to make mine into the ultimate wooden boot grip for CCW. When done I will post photos. :wink:

Boge, can you post before and after pics? I'd like to see it with full grips and with whittled down grips.

You can see before photos in the link I posted. I'll try & post some finished ones when I'm done but remember, my grips are a type of Rosewood and as such one needs a respirator to cut & sand it. I have to prepare. :wink:

Almost all of the exotic woods are highly allergenic so be careful fellers when working with em !!

I like the Panel Grips (absorbs recoil for 50 yr ole hands)& ya can change em out for `bout anything ya like !

I have to say guys that I have never been so impressed by a set of grips; I was not expecting much but the fit on these is spectacular. They have a bit of a palm swell to them and are superbly comfortable; to me they are much more attractive than the Hogue's or panel grips. For the money I don't think they can be beat!
