RIP Buddy Baker

Man... What a shock! I just heard Buddy Baker passed away from a very aggressive cancer. I haven't followed NASCAR for 30+ years, but Buddy Baker goes all the way back to the late 1950s. As I recall, he broke the 200 MPH barrier back in the late 60s or early 70s.

RIP Buddy... You gave it a hell of a run.
 
I've heard a lot about him but was not watching or following back then. Was he a 'shine runner early-on?

No... But his dad was certainly old enough to have been a runner. And his dad Buck Baker was also a NASCAR driver from the late 40s who retired in 1976. ;)
