I put a Tasco Bantam 2.5X20 on the 1022 today. I set it up in the house and view was fine. However, out side there is so much reflection in the eye piece, it is useless.

Is this just the symptom of a cheap scope or is there something I should be doing.

Oh, I do wear glasses

Just to experiment,, tape a piece of cardboard around the top of the lens, extending out about 1/2" TO 3/4"to act as a shade. If that helps, then you can explore a more permanent solution.

I plan to try that late this afternoon (when the peak heat fades). I tried cupping the hand around the eye piece but not the best off hand position

I'm shooting late afternoon to the west, into a wooded area with open sky to my back. I think the reflection from my glasses makes it impossible to see through the scope

When it cools down some more, I was planning to get out rifles with Leupold and Kayles dangerous game scopes and see if I have the same problem.

here is my setup. CL scope/bore ~1 3/4"

and a feature of my 16 1/2" barrel I just recieved from High Desert Dog. (paper work submitted last week)

Up date
tried a paper towel tube.
still have a glare in the center of the eye piece.
took scope and base off (now to find those filler screws after 30 years)

lesson learned...don't expect to much from the Wmart clearance aisle
