I remember Rochard Boone in the TV seeries "Medic" and in the movie "Halls of Montezuma", and of course "Have Gun,Will Travel" series. But he has been popping up in many older westerns, more thn I ever thought about. He sure has a long list of xredits.

From what I've lerned, he was a distsnt relative of Danial Boone, from Kentucky.

From what I've learned, he was a distant relative of Daniel Boone, from Kentucky.
Richard Boone (June 18, 1917 - January 10, 1981, Age 63) was the great-great-great-great-grandson of Squire Boone, who was frontiersman Daniel Boone's brother.

I have always been a big fan of Richard Boone, especially his TV series, Have Gun - Will Travel. Therefore, my username and avatar. See the explanation of Paladin's name below.

My favorite western by a wide margin. Unfortunately, he didn't have a long life. Don

I am just finding out almost 40 years after my grandpas death that he and Richard Boone were actually pretty tight friends.
I am finding this out from the "old" guys that own and run the local filling station/beer joint here in Melrose Fl. "Chiappinis" I found this out one day when I mentioned that I was a big fan of Boone who just happened to be on the tv behind the bar. That's when the owner told me.
The story is that Richard used to come to Melrose and hang out with my grandpa. Would've been quite a drive from where Boone lived in St. Augustine. It's surprising because my grandpa was not a social man. Didn't know how to small talk. Only time you'd ever see him was if he was planting something, or building something. A real man of the earth. Honest man. Would love to know more about their friendship.

Seeing writeups like this make me feel old. OMG, he died 44 years ago. Has it been that long since I watched HGWT?
Not to make you feel older, but if you're talking about the original airing of the series, the last episode (Season 6 - Episode 32) was broadcast in April of 1963.

However, the series is still being broadcast in reruns on both cable, Pluto TV, and over-the-air stations like MeTV .

If you care to take a stroll down memory lane, the IMBD site below lists all of the episodes along with a summary of and a thumbnail photo from each episode.

I remember the time vividly. It was the month Grandma died, Grandpa moved in with us and took my bedroom, and I was preparing for next year starting High School.

But most of all I remember that cutie that sat next to me in school, only to be too shy and not see her aging until College.

It was also the year I got my first rifle. (I still have it)

We all went thru that with girls! But I was lucky---I became of age with the newly invented, and VERY friendly Hippie girls---and then they invented birth control pills and I was saved from having a village full of children...! It would have been absolutely perfect except for the Viet Nam war...

Many of the girls in college were hippies. I remember them too, but not fondly. I never met one that wasn't as ugly as ****.

And then there is the book; "Richard Boone - A Knight Without Armor in a Savage Land". Try and get a copy. Lucky me, I've got a copy.

I remember his mostly from TV shows. Have Gun Will Travel, Medic, Shows like Playhouse 90 etc. I've seen a number of movies he's been in Halls of Montezuma, Shootist, etc. Good stuff.
