Miss a lot of life by not watching movies over and over?
There are some incredibly talented people that act in movies. There are also some that I believe take themselves & what they do way too seriously. For some reason this thread made me think about the movie Tropic Thunder.

I probably missed a lot of life for more than one reason but I don't Rosie O'Donnell about it. During the last three years of her life, I was caring for a very sick woman. Since her passing I've been involved in a bad car wreck, one heart attack and two bouts with cancer. Still fighting the last bout so I don't put up with a lot of BS anymore.
Ms out n life? Hell, I've had a damn good life. Like anyone else there's been ups and downs but on the whole, I'm perfectly satisfied with my life.

Charlie Sheen is a versatile actor.
Apparently he can assume many positions and activities while doing gay things with other dudes.
I do everything in my power to not support the "entertainment industry". Haven't been to a theater in 20+ years, no TV, and I certainly don't worship the useless bags of flesh we call actors.

Neither do I. I very rarely buy a new movie. Usually, I run the local swap meet and yard sales. Occasionally hit the local pawn shops as well. Regular movies run on average $2.00 and sometimes as low as &1.00. Blu-rays about $5.00. Beats the hell out of store prices. Even Walmart has raised prices for the cheap bin from $3.00 to $5.00 and I haven't seen anything there that I don't already have.

My son's bank forclosed on most of Kilmer's New Mexico ranch years ago.
(He kept a few acres for his family's homes)
Son sent his team out there to negotiate the process.
A drunk Val asked them to “please not sell the bulk of the ranch to his b***h neighbor” (Jane Fonda).

In regard to some people having issues with actors and their roles. I can say there are two types that I do that with .
Those that vilify something in life but portray it, even glorify it, because it pays well.
The other type makes every role a political statement of their chosen issue. Either making it the best way ever in the movie, or by making the opposite side look like buffoons.

I can't even remember the last time I bought a movie on a disc. Everything is streaming now, and since I rarely watch a movie more than once, paying the one time rental fee makes sense to me. I own several hundred DVD's that likely will be seen as a amusing novelty from the past after I am gone. FWIW, I can't think of a movie that I streamed that was so good that I wanted a "hard" copy for myself to add to my DVD collection. And I'm old enough to remember when a professor at college really impressed me with his collection of about a dozen movies on 16mm film. Up until I met that professor I had never met anyone who actually owned a copy of a Hollywood movie. Times have sure changed.
