Got my Gun Guide from IOWEGAN and a master-spring kit from Brownell's. I followed directions: took it apart and sanded, buffed, polished, and took 0.018" off the top hammer step to prevent light firing-pin hits. Changed out the stock 14# spring for a Brownell's 12#. After reassembly, my single-action pull went from a nasty 5.5# pull to a clean and crisp 4.25# break.
My stock firing pin measured a solid 0.055" before the top hammer step stock removal, so I expect that should be fine. I haven't done a lot of this internal work, but the Gun Guide made it pretty simple. And I appreciate it, Mr. IOWEGAN.
Now I gotta get to the range.

I've got a Redhawk that could use a little work as the trigger is not so good. I have a spring kit for it but I have been putting it off as the gun has light primer hits now. Also it took a long time to start shooting accurately. I'm thinking it needs a buff and polish on the internals and maybe a little off the top just like you did. :D
