On the other Ruger forum, there is a guy who has a Redhawk 7-1/2" .357 Mg., that has the hammer pivot pin tab on the left side of the frame instead of the right hand side. He has posted pictures of it.

This is the first I have seen or heard of this. Anyone seen this before?

I don't know the full story on this but there were quite a few made this way towards the beginning of the run. I think they changed it to the right side because if you used grips cut away for speed loaders they would not retain the tab properly. The only ones I have seen are 44s so the 357 might be "extra rare", but I don't know that it would fetch much of a premium for that feature.

I have one...a 44 with 5 1/2" barrel. The first 5 1/2" guns were this way, not sure how many. Mine sure would not bring any premium price because I have used the heck out of it and it shows.

The .357 Redhawk with left side tab is super rare. I've only ever had one reported and it also was a 7-1/2". If you happen to catch the serial number on the one that is in the auction, I could sure use that to update the reference. Here's what I have on the variation, from the Reference of Ruger Firearms:

KRH-445, KRH-44, KRH-44R, KRH-355 and KRH-35 with wide rib (10 groove serrations) and left side "tab" in frame above left grip panel. Known s/n range 500-76813 to 501-03951. KRH-445 and KRH-44R rare. Only one KRH-35 is known (s/n 501-03951) - extremely rare. None of the model KRH-355 is known in this variety.
