A bunch of years ago I knew a guy who slicked up his BH real nice. he was a part time smith and had the tools and knowledge to do all his own work. He fitted a wider hammer to his BH and I want to swear that is was actually a RH hammer.

Am I crazy? Would it take a lot of fitting? Are there other aftermarket alternatives out there?

I did a forum search before posting but didn't come up with anything so I apologize in advance if this is an old topic.

Hi Eli, Hell man we all is crazy at one time or another.
My guess would be that your buddy installed a Super BH trigger on his BH. Not sayin' a Redhawk trigger couldn't be made to fit but it would take a bit a work if possible at all.

I have SBH Hammers installed on all of my BH's, along with triggers, and grip frames. They're fully interchangable.

Thanks Earl. Is the SBH hammer wider than the standard BH hammer? I know the Bisley is lower. But wider is what I'm after.

Page 2. Both cut to 4 5/8, one with a Super Frame, trigger, and hammer. The bottom has a Bisley hammer that had the "hump" ground to match the original hammer. Place both hammers on the pivot pin and scribe the Bisley using the original as a guide then grind and polish away! I had a few extras but my friend installed them in his and replaced mine with new Bisley hammers, so I have to do some more grinding before I install more of them.

What about a Bisley hammer in a BH?

Yes. I had Hamilton Bowen put Bisley hammers on four Rugers he built for me.
