As many may know, I have been attempting to acquire a new Bearcat w/sights and wrote a 'rant' about all the hoops one must go through to finally get one in my hand. I went to another forum today and one of the posts was a question on what had to be done to get a handgun approved and put on the 'accepted' Maryland Handgun Roster. One individual said that one had to buy the particular gun then send it to the Maryland State Police and then they would look at it and decide if it was OK. I explained that that was NOT the case and that there is a form with a series of information that has to be sent to them on each model of any handgun they would like to have OKed. Now, I have spoken with the Administrator of the Handgun Roster acceptance board as well as my local FFL holder so I am rather sure of the correct procedure to follow to have any handgun accepted/rejected. He still will not believe me. I never brought up to him that he couldn't buy the gun unless he was a FFL holder, which he isn't, so he sure couldn't submit it to the board.
Freekin' knowitalls truly tick me off. Why ask a question if you don't want to accept the answer?
