I have a Redhawk 41 Mag I purchases new in 1984. Stainless steel 5 1/2 bbl. I have the box and papers and since it's had less than 50 rounds fired and it's been a safe queen I'd consider it at 98%. My Thirty Sixth Edition of Blue Book values it at $865.00 not including collector value. Question is, how do you figure the collector value? I can't seem to find that info in the book. Not really wanting to sell, just curious and figured this would be a good place to ask.

I don't know the answer to your question.
But, in todays economy I think you'd be hard pressed to get more than $865.00 for it.
Think they're making them again too.

I'm sure you're right about selling it, and yes, they are making them again. Not sure what the difference might between the two models, of any.

At a local auction this past weekend a 5.5 inch 41 Redhawk missing the red insert in its front sight and wearing Hogue non-factory grips without box and paperwork sold for $742.50. Plus $25 for background check if you weren't an FFL holder. The only new .41 Redhawks being made are the 2.75 and 4.2 inch models according to Ruger's website.

That pricing sounds like good news to me. My 5.5 inch 41 (the stainless one) came in the plastic box ..... bought it new maybe 10 years ago and think I paid $625.00 for it.

the first issue Redhawks in .41 mag 5.5 inch ,with the yellow/black box and mint shape go in the $750 to $850 range around here....top dollar gotta be "like/as new" in the box, shipper, papers etc...nice thing is the stainless versions cleanup as GOOD , if not better than new...... 8)
No box, average shape ,saw one last weekend guy wanted $600......
we ALMOST made him an offer, but passed............

Dan ... on a related note do you ever see a 5.5 inch BLUED 41 Mag sell and if so for how much?

One just went for near $1000 on gunbroker in the last week.

Any idea how many of the blued 41 mag Redhawks in 5.5" were made?

An educated guess I heard was maybe in the 2500 range. Ruger hasn't said for certain.

Thanks! I've got a stainless 5.5" .41 Redhawk that I bought new in 1986 and a blued 5.5" .41 Redhawk that I bought a few years ago for $600. Both are beautiful revolvers!
