quick 41 mag question

I am not near my RENE, and google didn't answer the question. There is an OM 41mag for sale a couple of hours from here. It is sporting a 5.5" barrel. Neither GunBroker, nor Google turned up an example. Price is on the high side of the fence, but close to worth it IF I find out that they do exist. So, question is, DID Ruger make them in 5.5"? Am I making the drive, or no? Thanks in advance

No OM 41mag's in that length. Only 4 5/8's and 6 1/2's. Only NM I can think of in 5 1/2 is the recent Lipsey's flattop model. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks Tater. That is what I was thinking too. This feels like it may be a hack job. Looks like a great one, but still not OEM at the end of the day.

we did it years ago, for our late Navy Sea Bee buddy , Fred Price, he wanted it short and we cut it to 5 inches just legal for handgun hunting here in Ohio, and added Old Army stainless parts on it, came out quite nice glad he was able to finally get his dream, when he passed ,we gave it to his nephew...............
........so they are out there.......

Make sure they're measuring it correctly also. I've run into this many times.

No, not original unless a 1 of 1 specially done for an exec or something, but that would require validation & if that was provided it could be a heck of a find.
Otherwise, I've always liked 5.5" SA's. I only have 5 Blackhawks now but they are NM's & all 5.5's. Add some 5.5's in Sigle Sixes in 22 & 32 as well.

If I were to get back into the OM's I could dig it.
