Question for Flatgate

Flatgate;
When you cut a SBH gripframe to make a rounded gripframe where do you cut and how much? Vertical or horizontal?
I hate shooting with my pinkie under. I have done a couple of your mods before and they all work great. Thanks for your expertise.

I've cut them with a "hacksaw" and a Dremel tool.

Cut the trigger guard right at the 90 degree angle. You'll need a source of heat to shape the "two legs" into a "round profile". The "cut ends" will also need to be trimmed during the reshaping process.

Rule #1..... take it easy, work slow, measure twice/cut once and inspect.

If you don't have access to welding equipment then you'll need to find someone to weld the two ends back together. Of course, a good weldor will use the proper "rod".

I sure wish RUGER would make blued HUNTER grip frames. I'd buy a couple real quick.

BUT as long as I'm dreaming, I'd like BRASS BISLEY and HUNTER grip frames too. That isn't very likely either.

Yeah, dream big! Linebaugh made a few Brass Bisley grip frames and I think I've seen "round guard" brass Super Blackhawk grip frames. They were obviously "aftermarket" and were few and far in between.....
