Jelly is now 4 months old. He got his rabies shot last week and the last Parvo vaccine. So now he can go to training with other dogs.

He’s very smart. And basically house trained to go outside to go pee. We are lucky the weather is so nice. It’s easy to just stay outside with him until he’s done his business. It’s basically, eat and 5 minutes later he poops. Pretty fast.

So today we are all at home and he’s getting rowdy. When he does that we have a playpen in the living room. He goes in and calms down. He likes the space. We have some toys and blankets for him. It isn’t torture at all.

But today, my wife put him in the pen, and then he peed. He’s still little and it’s understandable… She took him outside, he peed some more and all is good.

I put him back in his pen so I can go to the kitchen and make lunch.

That dog looked me right in the eyes and peed on the floor. Oh he knew what he was doing without a doubt. It’s was just a little to show me he was mad.

It must be terribly hard to be a puppy and have grievances. If he gets mad, he’s still so cute.

The dog in question:

Water tastes better with a hint of feet.

They hold a special place in our hearts forever.
I still remember taking my boy out holding him in my arm basically at 2 or 4 am. Now he takes up most of king sized bed.

Aussies are my favorite, but I wouldn't recommend them for urban folks. They have a lot of energy. 90% of poor behavior can be attributed to lack of exercise. I live a mile from my mailbox so I would ride my ATV there and back with the dog following. I stopped along the way and offered her a ride in case she was getting tired. She died a couple months ago at age 15. I sure miss her.

I totally agree. We got Australian Shepherds because of this. Our other dog who died last Thanksgiving was 4 moths old and I was walking him 3 miles BEFORE he went to training. Today, I took Jelly on a 1.75 mile walk in the morning, and then my wife took him to the park for about 30 minutes later in the afternoon. Believe me, we don't just keep them in the house. Someone is home with them everyday, we wouldn't have dogs otherwise.
