As I'm currently looking for a PC9, I'm studying the manual a bit. First problem I see (as left-handed) is the mag release - but I guess I can reach under with my right hand when reloading and press it. But how about the slide stop? Never shot one of these carbines, but assuming by the manual, the stop seems to be rather annoying part. If the manual is correct, it:
1) stops the slide when last round is fired - fine
2) won't stop the slide when an empty magazine is inserted and the slide is pulled back - weird
3) when reloading (with slide held back by the stop), you have to pull the slide back and ALSO push the slide stop at the same time?? SUPER WEIRD if true.
Do I get it right? Is there any other way to do this? Can the slide stop be removed, or modified to work just like one on a pistol?

when reloading a fresh mag just drop the slide stop will disengage the slide without having to pull back on the cocking handle....
and is why the slide stays open on the last round fires

my factory mags won't lock the slide back if I insert an empty mag...

but my 30rds mags do.. but I don't see that as a problem or weird as that does nothing to affect the performance ..inserting empty mags don't work well when I'm trying to shoot things does

maybe the annoying part is being left handed :P

If it works that way, then fine. I was confused by the description in the manual.
I can shoot with both hands and try to practice both, but I surely prefer the left side (except for muzzleloaders, which are easier loaded and safer shot right-haned). Do you see a way to operate the stop with right hand, reaching over or under the rifle somehow? I can't try it, none of my friends has one.
Thanks

the only trouble I had is locking the slide stop and pulling back on the cocking handle difficult /uncomfortable...

for you; you'll might find more EZ being your left hand dominant...

dropping the slide stop or pressing the mag release can be done with sliding your right hand back{very little} closer to your trigger to function any of the other buttons w/ just with a finger felt pretty natural with out having to reach under the weapon

Yes, and not even too far from my home. Actualy not so big surprise, as local gun shop had likely the last bigger batch of PC9s in middle Europe on sale couple years back, just before I came into the gun hobby. The carbines are around here, people just won't let them go easily. This one should be pretty much in factory condition, said to be very rarely shot and comes with four mags (don't know their capacity, but I have 15 and 20 rounders already with my P89, 3 of each, so that should be enough.
