What optic sits stop your Ruger Rifle.

Easy for me...receiver sight on my No. 1S .338, factory peep sights on my Mini 14 and .308 Scout, and a Williams peep sight on my 10/22. At 68 my eyes are good enough to still use iron sights, especially receiver/peep sights, with the only exception being my 1903 Springfield as those open sights can be difficult to use in less than ideal lighting for me, but then just switch to my 03A3 and problem is solved.

I still do OK irons, handgun or rifle.
But definitely see the advantage of optics.
Used to shoot chucks w a 9X AO Leupold for decades.
Now I need 12X LOL

Even on .22rf, 50 or 100 yards I do like 12X

But for general 50 yards and in stuff, around 2-7X is pretty nice.
Too bad Leupold uglied up the 3-9X EFR in the Freedom line.
The old compact was sharp, esp in gloss.

Alas, newer 2-7X or 2.5-8X won't fit a #1 with just one ext ring at rear (2.5-8X above).
Old scrawny M8 4x below.

I don't like the look when using two ext rings.

The only Ruger .22 rf now at my house is a 50tth anniv grey lam/blued 10/22 w a Bushnell TRS25.
I put a Volq hammer in it for the family member that owns it.
It actually does OK w CCI Blazer.

The old '67 sporter in prev post was like a shotgun. Overton stock was hard press against bbl.
Fixed that and it got a little better, went from Imp Cyl to Modified LOL

I ditched it and got a beater 70 fingergroove, that after mult tweaks was only slightly better.

Old M77 in .30-06 had a Leupold 2-7X32 on it. Tried a Zeiss 3-9X40 and had to go to taller rings to clear the barrel, making the shooting position all wrong. Back to the Leupold.

96/44 has a Leupold 1-4X on it.

A Ruger Gunsite Scout sets under a Burris P.E.P.R. Mount which is under a Burris XTR 1 x 6 Scope!

Some peeps things differently...oh, I guess I am one of them! ;) :ROFLMAO:

A pre Hawkeye 77 SS Compact 243 with a grey laminite stock with a silver Sightron 3x9 mounted.
Found it at a pawn shop including a nice camo sling and a case.
It is my go to gun when we quite often take rides where it's possible to see a wolf.
With handloads it will shoot a 100 grain bullet just shy of 3000 FPS
A three foot rifle is a handy size in a pickup..

I know I'm going to hear about it, but no optic (scope) on my Ruger American. That one has an Armed Forces Module Laser. Though I have always preferred iron sights, after Long Covid I discovered and eye dominance change. This actually improved my handgun shooting ( I am a lefty handgun shooter) but caused problems for longun shooting, which I do right handed. On some I have no problem, but the Ruger ( maybe balance?) gave me reason to go for a laser. Since it is used for self-defense rather than hunting, no misses are allowed.

I have a M77 tang safety in 30-06 with a 3.5-10x40 AO leupold with the older tall target turrets; I have a thing for the old USMC oblong mil dots and it had em.

Suggestions for an optic on a brand new Hawkeye Alaskan in 375 Ruger? Probably will be used for close to medium range hunting, including bear. I'm thinking I'll need an illuminated reticle and enough eye relief to keep my eyebrow intact. Really hoping to keep it in the $500 range. Thoughts?

I have a Ruger No 1 in 458 Win Mag. It's been abusing the Nikon 2-7X scope with lots of heavy recoil for 45 yrs. Still clear and sharp! Don
I have a Ruger#1 in .204 Ruger Stainless Steel
I have a Muller silver scope
(cannot remember zackly 8 to 3^ some power) pardon old man with a 60mm will verify andupdate

My Wife loved it at first shot
She saw the bullet strike.
Love making rounds for it.

Having been a shooter for over like 60 years, I have a fairly large inventory of scopes that I have accumulated, and whenever I buy a rifle it will simply receive one of those scopes. Right now my Ruger American Rimfire in .22 magnum wears a Leupold Vari-X III, 4.5-14 X 40 AO fine reticle, and I love that combo. That one is probably the favorite scope that I own, and I bought it used but in like new condition.
