Barrel mounted optic for PC9 tactical

I am looking for a method to mount an optic on the Ruger PC9 takedown with a floating handguard. I have mounted the optic on the receiver and I loose zero after each time the gun is cleaned. (barrel removed).

Any thoughts?

While an optic mounted on a 'floating handguard' isn't the most solid/secure connection, it's probably 'good enough' for a 9mm carbine which is both short range and moderate accuracy anyway.

If the Ruger PC Carbine loses zero, most likely the click wheel is not adjusted correctly. There is a section in the manual that outlines the adjustment steps, including the direction (I heard from people who adjusted in the opposite direction).
