I just bought a NIB p-94 in 9mm, serial number 308-001xx. The dealer advised me that Ruger pistols with serial numbers below 200 were more highly valued, because they were intended to go to employees first. I didn't really care, because I paid a normal price for it, but I was just wondering if that statement was accurate/

I think he might have been feeding you a line, but I could be wrong - it has happened once. The only thing I found with a 200-series serial number were a couple of their rimfire pistols.

I checked the serial number on the Ruger website, and my pistol was manufactured in 1994, so that was kind of neat to buy an almost 20-year old gun still NIB.

What did it sell for? The price varies on Gun Broker, but in this climate... things are not as they might normally be.

The dealer originally wanted $399, but he accepted $350. I didn't think that was too bad.

Thanks. I was worried originally that it would have only 10 round magazines, but it has the full 15 rounders.
