P 89

It's not the most accurate semi-auto I have, but it shoots just fine and is accurate enough for any practical purposes.

Yugo, even a Smart Car is no problem. Again, not the most accurate but enough for most practical applications. It's the only gun I've ever sold, and I wish I hadn't. Great for what it is.

As the signature line says, yeah, I got one.

Last time at the range, put 60 rounds in a 8 inch circle at about 25 feet using cheap WWB Wally world specials. Yep, Might not be the best out there but I am sure it would more than cover the Yugo challenge!

You may just need more practice with the P89 if your not used to such a trigger. Your statement of inaccuracy mimics the same thing said from new Beretta 92/96 series shooters.

My P89 is pretty accurate but I modified it to suit my needs. With a P95 trigger installed, lighter Wolff hammer spring and Hogue wood grips, it's pretty much perfect. A lighter hammer spring might help a bit with the pull but I'd get used to the stock set-up first and then modify as you see fit or deem necessary.

Not sure why this is the only forum on the internet that won't allow me to post pictures using the form tools. Anyone see the picture posted? All I see is a line of text that should be a picture. :?:

I agree with all the other comments. I have a P89 now for two years. It was one of the last production models (2005). Shoot it mostly at the 50' distance. It is reliable as heck, no matter what brand of ammo I put into it. I have not had one failure of any kind. Not the most accurate, but I will not get rid of it.

Mine is probably one of the first production P89's and it has never missed a beat. Never had an issue with accuracy. Got to say I love t for the ost part. Don't shoot it much these days since I fallen for others.

I have a p-89 as well. Most of the people i know want to buy it off me after they shoot it.Don't think its that bad accurate.I probly wont ever sell it.That thing can't wear out.

I HAVE A P89 I CAN"T HIT yugo WITH IT. HOW ABOUT YOU ANY BODY

I couldn't hit crap with any of the 89s I've owned either. I tried that gun, THRICE, trying to like it... I pass right by when by the off chance I see one

the trigger is such a long pull that you have to be good with the trigger. Pull the trigger as far to the rear as you can until it just stops, hold the sights on target , again hold it to the rear without firing, you'll feel it, a slight stop then just pull it slightly until the trigger pops the shot off.

I had to put a grip laser sight on mine in order to keep it even on a paper at 25 feet. Not my favorite pistol for sure...

My P89 was one of the worst guns I ever owned for accuracy ... that and a P91 that was worse. The only P-series known for good/acceptable accuracy is the P90 ... the rest are combat accurate at most ... meaning they'll hit a person somewhere in the chest from 7-10 yards or so. Reliable as bricks ... but for accuracy ?? Not so much.

By the way ... 'yugo' is substituted on the forum when a person writes $hit .. it's kind of an automatic censurer built into the software.

Sounds like some lack of practice and trigger control problems. I can hit an 8X10" steel plate every time with my LCP. It took a lot of practice to master the mousegun with it's nearly nonexistant sights but it can be done. I'm a geezer almost 70 years old and I can do it so anyone else should be able to do it. Practice. If you suspect a pistol is inaccurate try shooting from a rest to see how it shoots. If it's shooting low and right it's almost always trigger control. Ditto buckshot targets.

have a p-89, do not see where the problem with accuracy is. I regularly shoot targets at 25, anything I shoot at dies. what's the problem?

Were these pistols made for another reason than "combat accurate"? I think not. All of mine will put em where I want them within reason. They ain't hunting' guns, they ain't target guns, and the price and reliability says it all. They is working' guns. Ifin' yous wants more accuracy, you will pays for it. simple.

It was a rapid fire drill, 6 shots.
The only one she missed was the one on the left still standing.
The first time she fired the pistol was about 20min before the pic.

I had some Lyman 147gn. cast bullets in mine the other day.A friend of mine put a can on a piece of pipe. Not sure how far out it was.He bet me i could not hit it in 3 shoots.I hit it on first and third shoot. The bad news is i did'nt bet.But he does look at that gun a little bit different now.

I was the same way. From the information I've been able to gather on these. It was really hit or miss getting a good one. I've owned 3 over the course of the years.

On the other hand, a buddy of mine has a newer KP944 (camlock) model that is really good in the accuracy dept. We can both shoot well with it. Maybe I've just had bad luck getting a good p-series.
